Barry Wedgle
All musicians have that first person who says, "You're going to be a star, kiddo," and the infamous words, "Congratulations, you just got yourself a record label." For Michael, that first person was Barry Wedgle. Barry first saw and heard Michael perform at the V-Bar in Colorado Springs. As an elite jazz legend, getting the 'hats off' from Mr. Wedgle was a huge compliment, and to be invited to meet with him again was even better. The two formed a tight bond that enabled Michael to really hear her music as something to be evolved. Wedgle took Michael under his wing and took great care and time opening her eyes to the world of recording and collaboration. She joined Barry in a songwriting team, along with Kim Ciara and Ken Jansen, who also lended tracks to Michaels's solo project. All these musicians a good 25 years older than her helped, guided, and schooled her, preparing her for her now established state. This was all thanks to Barry, who urged her before she knew how important that really was. Barry now owns Exit Records, an independent jazz label in China, Thailand, and California. He is an actively performing musician who is a treat, and a true personality to see in person.
Michael took her time learning and working with the musicians at Exit, but has now gone on to put out her music independently.
